Ted Cruz defends nuclear modernization
After his Jan. 21 meet and greet at Theo's in Manchester, I asked Ted Cruz if he supported President Obama's plan to modernize the U.S. nuclear triad with a cost of $1 trillion over 30 years. He defended the modernization, saying that all three parts of the triad need to be updated. There are rogue states in the world, he added, and the U.S. need to be prepared.
I asked if he was concerned about accidental nuclear war. He said that he was, but that the modernization would reduce the cost of this.
