Sanders Wants Strong Lobbying Legislation

Curtis C. Smith on August 03, 2015
After his Aug. 1 talk, I asked Sanders: "Lockheed has been recycling taxpayer dollars to lobby for more nuclear weapons contracts. What steps would you take to make sure the nation's security policy is not driven by Lockheed's profit motives?" His quick response: "strong lobbying legislation."

I was not able to ask a question during Sanders' Aug. 1 Q and A session. His talk contained virtually nothing on foreign policy or national security issues. He did say in response to a question that he will do what he can to stop the US from being involved in perpetual war.

After his talk I asked him: "Lockheed has been recycling taxpayer dollars to lobby for more nuclear weapons contracts. What steps would you take to make sure the nation's security policy is not driven by Lockheed's profit motives."

His quick response was "strong lobbying legislation."
