O'Malley: Give the military what they ask for and not what politicians want to give them

Erika McCroskey on September 28, 2015
When questioned about the nuclear arms race and his plan to end it even with the huge amount of money weapons contractors are making, Governor O'Malley stated "Well first of all, we should only give the military what they ask for and not what the politicians want to give them."

Gov. O'Malley only took a few questions, and I was not chosen to ask mine. So, I made my way to the line and asked Gov. O'Malley directly:

"Gov. O'Malley, in the Pope's recent visit to the US, he called for an end the nuclear arms race. What is your plan to do this, given the huge amount of money weapons contractors are making?"

Gov.  O'Malley "Well first of all, we should only give the military what they ask for and not what the politicians want to give them (this is in reference to Congress deciding to spend more money than the Pentagon had asked for).

He then made mention of the Pope's comments on Dorothy Day and Thomas Merton.
